Outdoor Signage Regulations |
The roads, sidewalks, play park areas and detention pond areas are zoned public open spaces in terms of the Land Use Planning Ordinance, No 15 of 1985, and as such the City of Cape Town Outdoor Advertising and Signage By-Law No 10518 dated 5 December 2001 applies mutatis mutandis to these areas. |
In addition to the provisions of this By-Law, the Trustee Committee of Royal Ascot Master Property Owner’s Association (RAMPOA) has approved the following regulations in terms of clause 12.1.1 of the RAMPOA Constitution. |
1. |
Outdoor signs in public areas maintained by RAMPOA may not be displayed on stakes inserted into the ground in any public open space or common area of Royal Ascot without permission of the Trustee Committee of RAMPOA. This is notwithstanding paragraph 5 of Schedule 12 of By-Law 10518. |
2. |
Notwithstanding paragraphs 15 & 16 of Schedule 12 of the Outdoor Advertising and Signage By-Law No 10518 outdoor signs, including estate agent signs, may not be placed on the outside of any common property wall or fence along Grand National Boulevard, Parade Ring Road, Bridle Way, Stirrup Way and on the Royal Ascot common property walls in Milnerton Drive without permission of the Trustee Committee of RAMPOA. |
3. |
An application for exemption from these regulations shall be submitted in writing to the Portfolio Manager for Royal Ascot; permission will only be valid if given in writing and signed by the Chairperson of the Trustee Committee of RAMPOA. |
4. |
Contravention of these regulations shall be liable to a fine not exceeding R1,000.00 (one thousand rand); if the unauthorised signage is not removed, additional fines not exceeding R500.00 (five hundred rand) per day shall be applied. |
Approved by the Trustees Committee of RAMPOA on 31 August 2009. |
